Why does this project take place?

In the times like these, when violence is escalating all around the world and many people are affected by wars and violent conflicts, talking about peace education and culture of peace has never been more important. Choosing nonviolence and human rights respect became crucial in order to foster nonviolent actions and nonviolent conflict transformation processes. Therefore, we created a project “Peace fellowship” in order to support processes of building peace and develop the competencies of future peace-builders.

If becoming a peace-builder has been something you always dreamed about — this is a chance for you!

AIM

The project “Peace Fellowship” — Promoting culture of peace via strengthening
cooperation of youth peace workers — aims to build the capacity of the partnering organizations and the Youth Peace Ambassadors Network in general, to increase the quality of their work and share innovative practices through developing the Peace Fellowship and empowering the Fellows with peace-building instruments in their communities.

OBJECTIVES

  • To increase partner organizations’ capacity and knowledge on: human rights, peace education, conflict management, research methods, and advocacy campaigns.
  • To allow organizations to boost their cooperation, bring innovative approaches to their work, and increase the quality of their activities through developing the Toolkit of practices and methods of Peace Fellowship.
  • To gain a better understanding of country-specific human rights issues. Introduce Fellows with existing instruments and best practices for solving these issues and stir up networking with local and national experts, stakeholders, and decision-makers.
  • Raise public awareness around human rights issues in local communities through educational activities, advocacy campaigns, and other actions.

Basically is a peer-to-peer (you teach & learn from others) approach. 😊
